We recommend four beaches in Cassis, where you can relax under the Riviera sun: Grande Mer beach (200m), a sand, pebble and gravel beach long 300 meters and monitored in summer; Bestouan beach; Anse de l'Arène, bordered by a pine forest and 400m long and finally, Anse du Corton, a small peaceful cove.

From the port of Cassis, you can rent a boat or take part in a maritime expedition, to see the creeks of Cassis from the sea: an experience not to be missed.

Hikes in the Calanques

Part of the GR98 (Grande Randonnée) passes through the town of Cassis and runs along the Mediterranean coast. By taking this path, you will be lulled by the song of the cicadas and the Provençal scents. In addition, you will get resplendent views of the Bec de Sormiou, the Grande Candelle, Cap Morgiou, the Capelan Cave, small fishing ports and the ruins of the ramparts. The Marseille-Cassis race

Since 1979, a walking race has linked the city of Marseille to Cassis, a little over 20 km. This race brings together runners from all over the world and is usually organized on the last Sunday of October each year. For 12 km, you will cross the Calanques National Park where remarkable views will be offered to you. This popular event is unmissable in the region. The most daring among you will be able to participate.

The municipal museum of Cassis

The Mediterranean Museum of Provencal Arts and Traditions is located in the heart of the village in a former presbytery built in the 18th century. The museum is full of archaeological pieces, as well as beautiful Provençal paintings. The museum is free to visit and is open from Wednesday to Saturday. Despite the permanent exhibitions, the year is punctuated by temporary exhibitions.
